The police department has come into alert mode after the increased tension in Uttarkashi district against Love Jihad and the local people’s call to call a mahapanchayat on June 15.
Additional Director General of Police V Murugesan has instructed SP Uttarkashi to maintain law and order. Along with this, he has also been asked to provide security to those who follow the law, while instructions have been given to take the strictest legal action against those who break the law.
Filed a case against the accused and sent him to jail:
The ADG said that a case has been registered against the accused for trying to elope the minor in Uttarkashi district Purola and he has been sent to jail. Apart from this, serious investigation is going on in this matter. In view of such incidents happening continuously, there is anger among the people, due to which an atmosphere of tension has been created there.
Keeping this in mind, the police is fully alert. As far as the mahapanchayat has been called on behalf of the local people on June 15, the SP has been directed to take immediate action against those involved in making false statements, violence and damaging property.
The broadcast video is being investigated:
The ADG said that these days a video is being circulated rapidly on the internet media. Some people are seen vandalizing in the video. This video is being linked to Purola while the video seems to be of Barkot. The video has been sent to Forensic Science Laboratory Chandigarh for examination. This will make it clear where the video is from.
One platoon PAC deployed in view of security:
Inspector General of Police, Garhwal Range, Karan Singh Nagnyal said that as far as the Mahapanchayat is concerned, there is no justification for it, because the police have filed a case against all the accused and sent them to jail. Verification is underway in the area and one platoon PAC has been deployed for security.
Discussion on creating an atmosphere full of mutual brotherhood and harmony:
District Magistrate Abhishek Rohila and Superintendent of Police Arpan Yaduvanshi called a meeting at Purola Tehsil Auditorium on Monday evening. In which there was a discussion about creating an atmosphere full of mutual brotherhood and harmony. During this, he reviewed the events that happened during the last 17 days.
In the meeting, Vyapar Mandal President Brijmohan Chauhan said that apart from Muslim businessmen of criminal type, no one has been asked to leave Purola. All those who have closed shops have gone of their own accord. He said that there is anger among the general public about the fact that the businessmen of the Muslim community do not cooperate in identifying the criminals.
Nagar Panchayat President Harimohan Negi said that before any kind of atmosphere deteriorates in the city area, the local administration should identify the outsiders involved in crimes. Riyayat Alli, Ashfar, who does the business of Kabbadi, told that he has been running a shop in Purola for 45 years, he has no complaint or grievance with anyone. On June 15, an atmosphere of fear has arisen in the minds of Muslim businessmen due to pasting of threatening posters by the mahapanchayat.
