The confusion over whether the budget session of the Assembly will be held in Dehradun or summer capital Gairsain may end on Wednesday. A decision regarding the date and venue of the session can be taken in the meeting to be held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Budget session is possible this month. On the other hand, Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan said that the Assembly is ready for whatever decision the government takes. The monsoon session of the Assembly was adjourned indefinitely on September 8, which extended from February 5 to February 7. Its session has ended, but excitement has started regarding the budget session.
Demand regarding severe cold
The government is finalizing preparations in this regard. Along with this, the discussion intensified on whether the session would be held in Dehradun or the summer capital Gairsain. The last session in Gairsain was held in March last year. Meanwhile, in view of the severe cold in the state, many MLAs started insisting on holding the budget session in Dehradun.
Demand to hold budget session in Dehradun
About 32 MLAs from the ruling party and the opposition have submitted a signed letter in this regard to Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan. The letter mentions the difficulties faced by the machinery in view of the severe cold in the summer capital Gairsain. It has also been requested that the budget session should be held in Dehradun only. A decision on this has not been taken yet from the government level. It is believed that the budget session will be discussed in the cabinet meeting to be held on Wednesday.
