
Mining Director SL Patrick was held hostage by some people in the guest house for two hours. The accused demanded extortion money of Rs 50 lakh from them. In this incident of April 9, a case has now been filed by Patrick against a person named Omprakash Tiwari in the Cantt police station. It is alleged that Tiwari was pressurizing him to get partnership in mining leases and stone crushers. When he did not give in to the pressure, he was taken hostage. Police have started investigation in the matter. SL Patrick, Director of Geology and Mining Department, has complained to the SSP in this matter. Patrick says that a few days ago he met Omprakash Tiwari, resident of Adarsh Vihar Kargi Road, at the Secretariat. Tiwari had described himself as special to an Additional Secretary level officer. He wants to do work related to mining leases and stone crushers. For this, when he talked to Patrick, he advised him to participate in the online tender process. He started asking for an appointment with Patrick. Due to being very busy, he could not give time to meet.
After this, Tiwari asked for an appointment with Patrick on phone on April 9. Patrick reached his home at around seven o’clock on April 9. At around eight o’clock Tiwari called him and said that he was standing outside the house. When Patrick asked to come inside, she refused to talk in front of the family and asked to go to a restaurant. Tiwari made him sit in his car. Patrick asked his driver to come from behind. Instead of taking them to the restaurant, Tiwari took them to Sharda Guest House near Ballupur. Here he made Patrick sit in the room on the first floor. Some of his friends were also present in the guest house. It is alleged that Tiwari asked Patrick to drink alcohol. But, Patrick refused.
Patrick told police that Tiwari became angry and pulled her and put her on the bed. After this he closed the door and went out. He threatened him and demanded Rs 50 lakh from him and threatened to kill him if he did not give it. They were forcefully asked to give stake in a registered stone crusher and mining lease. It is alleged that while giving information about his family, Tiwari threatened to harm them also.

According to Patrick, he was held hostage there for about two hours. Around 10 o’clock he called his driver and invited him inside. On this Tiwari said that he has 30 henchmen standing outside and no one can come inside. Tiwari said that he has done a complete recce of the family. Patrick told the police that his driver showed courage and opened the door and somehow took him out. According to Patrick, he became ill after this incident and did not get time to complain. Now after recovering, he has complained. On the instructions of the SSP, a case has been registered against the accused Omprakash Tiwari and his associates in the Cantt police station.
