Uttarakhand has moved up a notch in the startup rankings due to the reforms being done by the government to promote startups. In the Startup Ranking of States-2021 released by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Uttarakhand has secured the Leaders category, while Gujarat and Karnataka have got the ranking of the best performing state.
In the ranking of startups, Uttarakhand is continuously moving ahead leaving behind many big states. The facilities are being improved by the government to establish the innovation idea as a startup. Due to which the state is getting success in the startup ranking of the Centre. In the Startup Ranking of 2021 released by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Uttarakhand has moved up one place to get the Leaders category.
In the ranking of the year 2018, Uttarakhand got a place in the Emerging (Emerging) and in the 2019 Aspiring (Aspirational) category. Industry director Sudhir Chandra Nautiyal says that the startup ranking is constantly improving due to the policies of the government. The startups of the state are bringing laurels to the country by doing better work. The government is also providing technical support along with financial incentives to the recognized startups.
So far 128 startups have been recognized in the state:
128 startups have been recognized by the government on innovation ideas in health, information technology, food processing, education and other sectors. Under the State’s Startup Policy 2018, the government is also giving financial incentives to startups to set up business. In which SGST reimbursement, 100% exemption in stamp duty, one to five lakh assistance for patenting the product, monthly allowance of 10 to 15 thousand rupees is also being given to startups.
13 Incubation Centers for Startups:
The government has recognized 13 incubation centers for setting up innovation ideas in business. Where the facility of machinery, technical support is available to the startup to prepare the project. With the opening of incubation centers in the state, the state does not have to go to other areas for making projects for startups.
Preparation for amendment in startup policy to increase facilities:
To promote startups, the government has implemented the Startup Policy in the year 2018. Now the government is preparing to amend the policy to increase facilities to encourage investment in startups and incubation centers.
