Sanskrit will soon become the common spoken language in the state. For this, one lakh people will be given training in simple Sanskrit conversation through online and offline medium in a phased manner. Along with this, certificate courses will be started in Yagya, rituals and Vedas. In the first phase, 100 children, and after that every year by setting a target, the youth will be told about the 16 sanskars. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave these instructions while presiding over the 10th meeting of the General Committee of Uttarakhand Sanskrit Academy at the Secretariat on Thursday. He said that special efforts should be made to connect the youth with employment through Sanskrit language. There should be a better training arrangement about 16 sanskars for the children studying Sanskrit. Those who play an important role in teaching, writing and preservation and promotion of Sanskrit language in the field of Sanskrit should be given honorarium every year.
Nameplates in Sanskrit are mandatory in all offices. Sanskrit Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat said that at present, a total of 13 villages including one village in each district are being made Sanskrit villages. It will be expanded to the block level in a phased manner. He suggested a scholarship scheme for Sanskrit students in the state and an incentive scheme for priests. Sanskrit schools doing commendable work will be rewarded. There will be a competition for making short films on various contemporary topics in Sanskrit.
