Last Sunday, a one-day conference was organized at SIDCUL Haridwar with SIDCUL Manufacturing Organization and construction units regarding the annual industrial survey. Biwas Chaudhary, Deputy Director General of National Statistics Office, New Delhi, said that in future, statistical returns will have to be filed by the industries themselves. To encourage this, camps are being organized at various places. He said that 28 percent of the country’s pharmaceutical activities take place in Uttarakhand. Out of which Haridwar contributes 18 percent. He said that the annual survey data is important for the government’s policy formulation in the development of the country.
