Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the officers in a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence on Saturday to remain on alert mode for 24 hours in view of disaster management during the monsoon season. Senior officers of the government should maintain constant coordination with the District Magistrates. In view of the rainy season, all essential facilities, food grains, medicines, and other relief materials should be kept in sufficient quantity in the hilly districts. The Chief Minister inquired about the condition of rain and roads in both the divisions from Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey and Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat, who were connected through virtual medium. The Chief Minister directed both the commissioners to regularly review the arrangements of roads, drinking water, electricity, cleaning of drains etc. in their divisions. Keep all the arrangements smooth by maintaining constant coordination with the District Magistrates. In case of disruption of roads, drinking water and electricity lines due to rain, they should be made smooth as soon as possible. The decision to open and close schools should be taken only on the basis of the weather department’s warning and local weather-related activities. The condition of dilapidated bridges should also be assessed. It should also be ensured that the movement of people in the villages is not affected.
