An amount of Rs 48.36 crore has been released for repair and reconstruction works of Shri Kedarnath Dham foot path, road and other places due to heavy rains in Kedarghati on July 31. Out of these, 29 action plans of Public Works Department and 12 action plans of Irrigation Department have been approved. After the heavy rains, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is constantly taking updates on the matter and Commissioner Garhwal and Disaster Secretary have also been given the responsibility of monitoring. Under the leadership of District Magistrate Saurabh Gaharwar, Public Works Department and Irrigation Department are continuously doing disaster protection and restoration work.
41 proposals were sent from the district level
Due to heavy rains in Kedarghati on July 31, Kedarnath road and footpath were damaged at many places. The walking route was damaged at 29 places, while the road was also damaged considerably. Security walls were also damaged at many places due to the force of the Mandakini and Son rivers. 41 proposals were sent from the district level for security works and restoration works at various places. After the approval of Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami, 29 action plans of the Public Works Department costing Rs 19.34 crore, while 12 action plans of the Irrigation Department costing Rs 29.01 crore have been approved. Both the departments released Rs 14.72 crore for the Public Works Department, while Rs 11.97 crore for the Irrigation Department on Monday.
Rs 8.39 crore approved for the improvement of two routes of Kedarghati
Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved Rs 4.71 crore for the improvement and asphalting of Dewar Marg from Guptkashi-Jakhdhar-Tyudi motor road in Ukhimath under Kedarnath Assembly. Along with this, he has sanctioned Rs 3.68 crore for the improvement and asphalting work of 4.5 km of Garhi to Dhartolia motor road inside Agastyamuni. Soon the construction work will be started on both these roads.
Discussion on selection and training of players
State Bureau, Dehradun: Preparations have intensified for the National Games proposed in January next year in the state. In this regard, on Monday, Special Principal Secretary Sports Amit Sinha held a meeting with the officials of the State Olympic Association. In the meeting, the selection of players and their training was discussed. To give a larger form to the preparations, a meeting will be held with all the sports associations on Tuesday. In the meeting, discussions were held regarding the organization of games, trials for the selection of players, giving timely training to the selected players. It was decided in the meeting that a meeting will be held with all the sports associations and all the topics will be discussed pointwise so that the players representing the state can be selected before the National Games.
