Offline registrations for Chardham Yatra have been postponed till May 31. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave instructions to the officials in the review meeting of Chardham Yatra arrangements at the Secretariat on Monday. He said that in view of the increasing number of devotees in Chardham Yatra, it is necessary to take this decision in view of security and convenience. Chief Minister Dhami is constantly monitoring the Chardham Yatra arrangements.
As soon as he returned from Delhi, he reviewed the travel arrangements in a meeting with officials on Monday. He said that along with taking special care of crowd management during the Yatra, it should be ensured that the number of devotees who have been sent to the four Dhams is as per the fixed number. He said that devotees should also be encouraged to visit other religious and mythological places. For this, he instructed Garhwal Divisional Commissioner and Inspector General of Police to prepare a diversion plan. He directed that the devotees who have entered the border of Uttarakhand without registration and want to visit religious and tourist places other than the Char Dham, should be sent there. Also clarified that devotees will be sent to the four Dhams only in prescribed numbers and as per the prescribed standards. For this he asked to issue advisory for tour operators. E-Swasthya Dham app will monitor the health of pilgrims. With the aim of providing better health facilities to the devotees coming on Chardham Yatra, the Health Department and Wish Foundation have jointly launched the E-Swasthya Dham App. This app has started functioning. This app has been placed on the registration portal of Chardham Yatra, where pilgrims will give their health related information.
Gangotri-Yamunotri Highway
Now there is traffic jam only at narrow places and blind turns.
After the efforts of the government and administration, the traffic system on the Gangotri and Yamunotri Yatra routes is moving towards becoming smooth. Now there is traffic jam only at narrow places and blind turns. This situation is also due to the absence of police. Gangotri Highway is narrow at 28 places from Uttarkashi to Dham, while this is the case at eight places on Yamunotri Highway from Silkyara to Jankichatti. The reason for this is that work could not be done under the Chardham Alvedar Road project. This year the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham were opened on 10th May. Initially, pilgrims were taking 12 to 15 hours to reach Gangotri, 105 km from Uttarkashi, and 10 to 12 hours to reach Jankichatti (Yamunotri), 55 km from Barkot. There was relief after the government machinery took charge on the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. After which now this journey is being completed in four to five hours.
Now in Kedarnath you can go to the sanctum sanctorum and have darshan of the Swayambhu Shivalinga.
Now devotees will be able to go to the sanctum sanctorum in Kedarnath temple and have darshan of the self-proclaimed Shivalinga. On Monday, after strong opposition from the pilgrim priests, in the late evening talks between the administration and the temple committee, an agreement was reached to go to the sanctum sanctorum and have darshan. In view of the crowd of devotees, the district administration had banned visiting the sanctum sanctorum on May 11. Till now the devotees were having darshan of Baba Kedar from the Sabha Mandap itself. The system of giving VIP darshan to the passengers coming by heli service has also been restored. At the same time, the doors of the Second Kedar Lord Madhyameshwar Temple in Panchkedar were opened for the devotees at 11.15 am on Monday. On this occasion, more than 350 devotees had darshan of Baba Madhyameshwar.
