The National Old Pension Restoration Movement demanded the introduction of One Nation, One Pension along with One Nation, One Election. Emphasis was laid on giving the benefit of old pension scheme to all employees equally. State President of NMOPS, Jeetmani Panuli said that the effort of the Central Government for One Nation, One Election is commendable. It is hoped that the government will also link this campaign with One Nation, One Pension. All employees across the country should be given the benefit of a uniform pension system.
Benefit of old pension to employees before 2005
It was said that currently the employees before the year 2005 in the country are being given the benefit of old pension. The employees who came after this have been linked to the new pension scheme. Now the Central Government has brought a new pension scheme UPS. General Secretary Mukesh Raturi said that it would be better if the Central and State Governments now move forward on the One Nation, One Pension campaign and take a decision to restore old pension in the entire country. Only OPS should be implemented instead of NPS, UPS. Employees are not going to accept anything less than the restoration of old pension.
The government called the Corporation Federation for talks
The Personnel Department has given time for talks to settle the pending demands of the State Corporation Employees Officer Federation. On September 23, the Federation officials will hold talks with Additional Chief Secretary Personnel Anand Bardhan. Federation President Dinesh Gosain said that for a long time the Federation had been asking for time for talks. The Federation is demanding that the benefit of the pending increased dearness allowance from January 2024 should be ensured to the employees. When the state employees have received the increased dearness allowance, then why is discrimination being done with the corporations. General Secretary BS Rawat said that the government should also take a decision soon on the regularization of contract employees. Till regularization, employees should be given equal pay for equal work. Along with raising the employee issues strongly in the talks, their settlement will be ensured.
