With the increase in heat in the state, electricity supply has started getting disturbed. The incidents of tripping and breakdown in power lines are increasing. Besides, the common people are also troubled by power cuts. The government has taken a strict stance to ensure that the supply is not affected due to increase in demand for electricity. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has issued instructions to the Energy Secretary and the Managing Director of the Energy Corporation to ensure smooth power supply. Also, in view of the impact of power cut on drinking water supply, the Drinking Water Secretary has also been asked to make necessary and alternative arrangements, so that drinking water crisis does not arise. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has alerted the concerned departments to solve the problems increasing in the state as the heat increases. He had issued instructions last day for uninterrupted supply of electricity in the entire state including Chardham. Took cognizance of the problem of power cut in the state on Sunday.
There will be uninterrupted supply of electricity
He said that uninterrupted supply of electricity is necessary. The common man should not have any problem with this. He also gave instructions to immediately take necessary measures to ensure smooth supply. The Chief Minister said that due to power disruption, drinking water supply is also disrupted. He asked the Drinking Water Secretary to take all necessary measures to maintain the smooth supply. In case of problem in drinking water supply, instructions have also been given to ensure availability of drinking water through alternative measures. Chardham Yatra is going on in the state. Due to increasing heat the demand for electricity and drinking water has increased. The Chief Minister is continuously holding review meetings. Along with this, he also conducted on-site inspection of the arrangements of Yamunotri Yatra route.
On the other hand, following the instructions of the Chief Minister, Energy Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram has instructed the top officials of the Energy Corporation to conduct on-site inspection to keep the power system in order. Managing Director of Energy Corporation, Anil Kumar is visiting Chardham and Yatra routes to take stock of the electricity system. The Director Operations of the corporation has also been instructed to visit the area and do regular monitoring to ensure smooth power supply.
