During the Lok Sabha elections, Uttarakhand Police will monitor polling stations in remote and extremely remote areas of the state with drones. If suspicious activity is noticed here, local police will be immediately dispatched to the spot. Along with this, international and interstate borders will also be monitored with drones. This will help in maintaining law and order here. 11729 polling stations have been created for the five Lok Sabha seats in the state. Of these, there are more than 200 polling stations which are located at remote and extremely remote places. Due to adverse geographical conditions, it is not possible to install CC cameras in these. Also, surveillance and photo and videography is very difficult at these places. Such places will be monitored by drone cameras.
Temporary control room being built
Drones will also be monitored around sensitive and highly sensitive booths. A temporary control room is being built at the police headquarters to monitor the pictures taken from drone cameras. During surveillance, if any suspicious person, suspicious object or suspicious activity is seen by the drone, then that place will be immediately marked. This information will be immediately sent by the control room to the police officer of the concerned area. The concerned police officer will immediately reach such places and inspect the spot and take necessary action if necessary. Drones will also be used on international and interstate borders, so that no suspicious person or vehicle can enter the state with illegal materials.
Additional Director General of Police AP Anshuman, the nodal officer of police for the elections, said that drones will be used to maintain law and order.
