ITBP deployed at halting places including Kedarnath
Rudraprayag. Due to the tension between Pakistan and India, security has been tightened at the Yatra halts including Kedarnath. ITBP is deployed in Kedarnath Dham, while ITBP has also been deployed at the Yatra halts.
Security has been tightened after India took action on nine locations of Pakistan on Wednesday. People coming and going to Kedarnath Dham are being closely monitored. Along with this, the police is keeping an eye on the visitors in all the places in the district. During winters, the security system in Kedarnath Dham was with the ITBP, it is still deployed. Along with the regular police, PAC is also engaged in the security system. Along with the police, ITBP has been deployed at the pilgrimage stops of Gaurikund, Sonprayag, Sitapur, Rampur, Guptkashi and Phata. Thirty ITBP jawans are deployed in Kedarnath Dham, apart from this, jawans of police, SDRF, NDRF are also deployed.
Take all necessary steps for security
District Magistrate Saurabh Gaharwar also gave strict instructions that all necessary steps should be taken for the safety of common citizens. Superintendent of Police Akshay Prahlad Konde says that common people are being made aware about security. In view of the war-like situation, awareness campaigns have been intensified. He said that special attention is being given to security at Kedarnath, Sonprayag, Gaurikund as well as other major places. At the same time, a platoon of ITBP personnel is deployed from Sonprayag to Kedarnath Dham. More than 30 ITBP personnel are deployed in Kedarnath Dham. While adequate force including police, SDRF, NDRF, Home Guard is present. Every activity in the district is being closely monitored by the government intelligence agency of the police.
ATS deployed in Badrinath, checking campaign conducted
Gopeshwar: In view of the Chardham Yatra, security arrangements have been tightened in Shri Badrinath Dham. To ensure the safety of devotees and other persons visiting the Dham, the police conducted an intensive checking campaign in the Dham on Wednesday. Especially all the devotees who came for darshan were thoroughly searched and their belongings and bags were checked. During this, the police kept requesting the devotees not to bring bags or large items with them inside the temple premises. Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has also been deployed to make the overall security system of the Dham more effective. The responsibility of the security of the entire Badrinath Dham is now on the shoulders of ATS.
Now the responsibility of security in Badrinath Dham is with IRB
Gopeshwar: With the opening of the doors of Shri Badrinath Dham for devotees, the security arrangements here have been changed. The Indo-Tibetan Border Police, which was responsible for the security of the Dham during winter, has now handed over this responsibility to the Indian Reserve Battalion. Now the IRB will take over the responsibility of the security of Badrinath Dham. It is worth noting that every year during winter, when the doors of Shri Badrinath Dham are closed for six months, the responsibility of the security of the Dham amidst adverse conditions and heavy snowfall is handed over to the Indo-Tibetan Border Police. During this time, the ITBP soldiers perform their duty diligently even in difficult conditions. This year, after the opening of the doors, this responsibility has been taken over by the IRB today for the further security arrangements of the Dham. Under the security transfer process, the soldiers from the Seema Dwar unit of ITBP have formally handed over the charge to the IRB.
