Former Kotdwar MLA and Congress leader Shailendra Rawat has returned home to BJP along with his supporters. Apart from Rawat, many leaders and body and panchayat representatives having support base in various areas of Garhwal division joined BJP in the program organized at the state BJP office here on Sunday. BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi as representative of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Rajya Sabha member Naresh Bansal welcomed all of them into BJP and got them membership of the party. BJP claims that about 2.5 thousand workers of various parties including Congress joined the party in the program.
BJP opened doors for leaders and workers of other parties
BJP, which has entered the fray for the Lok Sabha elections, has set a target of winning every Lok Sabha seat in the state this time by a margin of more than five lakh votes. For this, it is moving forward as per a well thought out strategy. Also, BJP has opened doors for leaders and workers of other parties. In this series, a large number of people from Congress and other parties joined BJP in the program organized on Sunday. Among these, the name of former MLA Shailendra Rawat is prominent. He left BJP and joined Congress in 2012. Now he has returned home. Apart from them, Kuldeep Singh Rawat, who has contested independent elections twice from Kedarnath assembly seat, Rajesh Kandari, son of former minister Matabar Singh Kandari, Devprayag Municipal Council Chairman Krishnakant Kotiyal, former block chief Jaipal Panwar, Rudraprayag District Panchayat Vice President Sumant Tiwari. Also, leaders and workers of various parties from Purola, Ghansali, Tehri, Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Kotdwar areas took membership of BJP.
‘We have to strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’
On this occasion, State President Mahendra Bhatt said that today the political environment of the country is BJP-oriented, which we have to strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi by converting it into a historic victory in the Lok Sabha elections. He appealed to everyone to join the party’s mission and said that being the patron of the state BJP, he will take care of everyone’s respect and sentiments. He said that under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the direction of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Uttarakhand is writing new stories of development. Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi said that this scene of people taking membership of the party is enough to tell that this time BJP will win more than 400 seats in the Lok Sabha elections.
Rajya Sabha member Naresh Bansal said that BJP is not a party of familism but a party of family spirit. The program was conducted by State General Secretary Aditya Kothari.
