State’s Sainik Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi met Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Tuesday and apprised him in detail about the current work progress of Shanidham under construction in Uttarakhand.
During the meeting held at the residence of the Defense Minister, the Minister of Military Welfare informed that the Sanidham is being constructed in Uttarakhand as Panchmadham and is being prepared according to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Apart from motivating the tourists coming to this military base and the youth of the state, this base will inspire the future generation of the whole country and motivate them to join the military services. The minister requested that an unguided MEG-23 aircraft of the Indian Air Force, a model of an Indian Navy ship and an artillery gun be provided to the Department of Sainik Welfare to beautify the Sainik Dham.
In addition, the Defense Minister was also requested by the Sainik Welfare Minister to set up 04 more battalions of Echo Task Force in Uttarakhand. The minister informed that more than four lakh walnut plants have been planted in the border districts of Uttarakhand and this action is to be continued even further, for which it is absolutely necessary to constitute four more companies of the Ecology Task Force. While on one hand it will help in improving the condition of the local people and provide them livelihood and stop migration, on the other hand employment of ex-servicemen in Garhwal and Kumaon and strict security arrangements will be established for the villagers in the border areas.
