The weather is dry in the plains of Uttarakhand, but clouds are hovering in the mountainous areas. Storm and drizzle have also brought down the mercury in the surrounding areas including Doon. Along with this, the weather is expected to remain changed for the next few days. On Monday morning, most areas including Doon remained sunny. However, the storm and light drizzle last night has brought down the temperature. There is temporary relief from the heat across the state. The maximum temperature of most areas has fallen by three degrees Celsius in the last one day. Apart from this, partial clouds started hovering in some places again in the evening. According to the Director of Meteorological Center, Bikram Singh, the weather is expected to remain dry in most areas of the state today.
Heavy rain alert in mountainous areas
Surface and gusty winds may blow in the plains during the day. Partial clouds are expected to hover in the mountains. After this, the weather in the state can change again from Wednesday, April 30. Especially in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pithoragarh, warning has been given about rain with thunder and lightning in the lower areas and thunderstorms. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has alerted for heavy rain in the mountainous areas on Thursday.
Water supply stopped in Nagal Hatnala for four days, people are upset
In the recently built drinking water scheme in Nagal Hatnala with four crore rupees, the drinking water supply has been stopped for about four days. About 400 families are facing problems due to lack of drinking water supply. People’s daily work is getting affected. Consumers are managing by taking drinking water supply from tankers. Despite complaints, their problem is not being solved. In fact, about 400 families in the areas around Nagal Hatnala, Marotha, Chalang etc. located on Sahasradhara Road used to get drinking water supply from Karligad source till some time ago. Due to lack of sufficient water from most of the sources, people were not able to get drinking water supply.
New connections were given to the people by laying drinking water line in eight km
Around the year 2023, the Central Store Branch of the Drinking Water Corporation started the work of making a new drinking water scheme here at a cost of Rs 4 crore. A tubewell emitting 500 liters of drinking water per minute was installed in the area. An overhead tank of 450 kilolitre capacity was built and new connections were given to the people by laying drinking water line in about eight km. The department recently completed the construction of the scheme after about two years. But now consumers are not getting water.
Not a drop of water is coming for about four days
Consumers complain that not a drop of water is coming for the last four days and they are facing a lot of problems. Assistant Engineer Pramod Nautiyal said that the tubewell is not running due to lack of electricity supply. The overhead tank is not able to fill completely. Due to which the supply of some people is getting disrupted. The supply will be streamlined soon.
