CM Dhami’s strict instructions, ‘Suspend ration sellers and officials who commit irregularities’

admin August 2, 2025

The beneficiaries of the Chief Minister Antyodaya Free Gas Refill Scheme will be given funds for filling LPG cylinders through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). It will also be ensured that this amount is used only for filling the cylinder. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed to identify fake ration cards and take action against the concerned. Also, ration sellers and officials who are negligent or irregular were asked to be suspended immediately. He said that complete ration should be made available to all ration card holders on time every month. Chief Minister Dhami reviewed the Food Department in the Secretariat on Thursday. He said that 1.84 lakh Antyodaya cardholder families of the state are associated with the Chief Minister Antyodaya Free Gas Refill Scheme. He said that Antyodaya cardholders should get 100 percent benefit of this scheme. Uttarakhand is the first state in the country to implement this scheme. The Chief Minister directed that the data of all the beneficiaries registered under the National Food Security Act should be updated. He directed that senior citizens and other eligible persons should not be deprived of cheap food grains due to difficulties in biometrics. In such cases, ration distribution should be ensured through offline authentication or alternative system. The current capacity of food grain storage and the physical condition of the warehouses should be reviewed and arrangements for protected and safe storage should be ensured. One Nation One Ration Card Scheme should be implemented effectively so that there is no obstacle in getting ration from any place.

Data should be monitored on e-Purniti portal
The Chief Minister said that monitoring of real time transaction data should be ensured on the e-Purniti portal. Aadhar seeding and mobile OTP based distribution system should be strengthened. Solid arrangements for pre-stocking should be made in remote and mountainous areas. The condition of state warehouses was reviewed and asked to modernize and expand as per the need. A buffer stock plan should be prepared for every district. The supply of food grains to mid-day meal and Anganwadi centers should be ensured in a timely manner. Timely disposal of complaints received on the food complaint redressal system should be ensured. Infrastructure Monitoring Council Vice-Chairman Vishwas Dabar, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu, L Fanai, R Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Chandresh Kumar Yadav, Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari and Food Department officials were present in the meeting.
