The 38th National Games will be organized on the theme of Green Sports, for the first time medals made from e-waste will be given

admin December 7, 2024

The state is going to host the National Games for the first time. This game is also special because the Uttarakhand government and the Olympic Association have kept its theme as “Green Sports”. The winning players will be given medals made from e-waste while e-buses will be used to take them from the hotel to the ground and back to the hotel. The 38th National Games will be organized in the state from January 28 to February 14. More than 10 thousand players from all over the country are expected to participate in it. The Sports Directorate will not use plastic in the entire event. From the arrival of the players to the departure, every step will be kept plastic free. Plastic glasses will not be kept near the water container in the sports complex. Players, officials, teams etc. will use their own bottles. Apart from this, the winning players in the National Games will be given medals made from e-waste. A company has been selected for this.

Such medals will be available in the National Games for the first time
Till now the medals given in the National Games are made of metals. This will be the first time in the National Games to be held in Uttarakhand that medals made of e-waste will be given in the National Games of India. Earlier, it was used in the Olympic Games held in Tokyo.

Players will be transported by e-buses

In the National Games, e-buses will be used to transport the players from the airport, railway station and bus station to the stadium. In such a situation, despite the increasing pressure of vehicles in the mountains, the environment will not be harmed.

Clothes will be made from plastic reuse

The clothes that will be decided for the players, officials, managers etc. in the National Games. All those clothes will be prepared from plastic reuse. This kind of experiment is being done to protect the environment from getting polluted. Along with earning a name in sports, Uttarakhand will be remembered for new experiments. – Prashant Arya, Sports Director
