This year, there is a lot of enthusiasm among the devotees about the Chardham Yatra in the state. This can be gauged from the fact that in the first 50 days of the start of the Yatra, so far about 30 lakh devotees have visited the four Dhams. Last year the Yatra started on 22 April and till June 30, i.e. in 68 days, 30 lakh devotees had visited the four Dhams. The state government is making continuous efforts to conduct smooth, safe and uninterrupted Chardham Yatra this year. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had started giving guidelines along with meetings for the smooth conduct of the Chardham Yatra from January this year itself. It was made clear to the officials that the Yatra should be taken very seriously. The effect of these preparations was that from the very first day of opening of the doors of the four Dhams, a large number of devotees from the country and abroad started reaching Devbhoomi.
CM gave instructions to ensure the convenience of the pilgrims
In the beginning, seeing the challenges arising from the huge crowd of devotees, the Chief Minister took charge of the arrangements. The result was that the arrangements started becoming smooth in a few days. The Chief Minister instructed the officials that the pilgrims should not face any kind of trouble. Due to this, the journey started going smoothly in all the four Dhams.
