Rajasthan Police has arrested the accused Saurabh Vats from Dehradun, who cheated by pretending to be the private secretary of the CM of Uttarakhand. Saurabh had defrauded Ramnath Yogi, a cloth merchant of Bhilwara and Deputy Chairman of the local Municipal Council, to the tune of Rs 1 crore 17 lakh. Posing himself as the personal secretary of the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, he had cheated the businessman in the name of getting the work of supplying uniforms (dresses) to children in government schools.

When the police brought Saurabh to Bhilwara and interrogated him, it came to light that before this he had committed fraud in many states including Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Many cases of fraud have already been registered against him in various police stations. Bhilwara Police has produced Saurabh in the District and Sessions Court and taken him on remand. During the interrogation during remand, it came to light that Saurabh had included more than half a dozen people in his team. These people used to find traders for Saurabh. In return Saurabh used to give them money. Assistant Sub Inspector Sabir Mohammad of Pratap Nagar police station said that six months ago, Saurabh had cheated Yogi on the pretext of getting him the work of supplying dresses to schools in Uttarakhand.
Saurabh had described himself as the private secretary of the CM of Uttarakhand. When Yogi did not get work, he lodged a police report. On this, District Superintendent of Police Rajan Dushyant Singh formed a team. After investigation, the team arrested Saurabh from Dehradun and produced him in Bhilwara District and Sessions Court on Saturday and took him on remand.
