Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday gave a new gift of Dehradun-Delhi (Anand Vihar Terminal) Vande Bharat Express to Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. The Prime Minister inaugurated the Dehradun-Delhi Vande Bharat Express by virtually flagging it off. On this occasion, he also gave the gift of electrification for all the railway routes of Uttarakhand. Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Retd), Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Union Minister of State for Defense and Tourism Ajay Bhatt, Ministers, MPs and MLAs at Dehradun Railway Station on the launch of Dehradun-Delhi Vande Bharat Express was present.
This train will connect the country’s capital with Devbhoomi at a faster pace.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that this train running between Delhi and Dehradun will connect the country’s capital with Devbhoomi at a faster speed. Its facilities are going to make the journey enjoyable. The Prime Minister said that when he had gone to see Baba Kedar, after the darshan, lines came out of his mouth without any reason that this decade would be the decade of Uttarakhand. The manner in which Uttarakhand is carrying forward the campaign of development keeping law and order paramount, is commendable. It is also important to preserve the identity of this Devbhoomi. He said that the Devbhoomi of Uttarakhand will become the center of attraction for the spiritual consciousness of the whole world in the coming times. We have to develop Uttarakhand according to this potential as well.
Chardham Yatra breaking all old records every year
The number of pilgrims visiting Uttarakhand on Chardham Yatra breaks all old records every year. Right now we all are seeing how many devotees are thronging to have darshan of Baba Kedar. Crores of devotees from all over the world come to the Kumbh and Ardh Kumbh held in Haridwar. Lakhs of people reach Uttarakhand in the Kanwar Yatra held every year. There are very few states in the country where such a large number of devotees come. This number of devotees is also a gift and handling such a large number is also a herculean task. To make this Bhagirath task easy, the double engine government is working with double the speed and with double the power.
Full emphasis of the government on Navratnas of development:
The Prime Minister said that the BJP government at the center and the state is fully focused on the Navratnas of development. The first Ratna – the work of reconstruction of Kedarnath-Badrinath Dham with a cost of Rs 1300 crore, the second Ratna – the work of Gaurikund-Kedarnath and Govindghat-Hemkunt Sahib ropeways at a cost of Rs 2.5 thousand crore, the third Ratna – to make the mythological temples of Kumaon grand. The work of Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission, the fourth gem – promotion of home stay in the entire state. Fifth Ratna- Development of 16 eco-tourism destinations, Sixth Ratna- Expansion of health services in Uttarakhand. A satellite center of AIIMS is also being built in Udham Singh Nagar. Seventh Jewel – Tehri Lake Development Project costing about Rs 2000 crore. Eighth Ratna – Development of Rishikesh-Haridwar as the capital of Adventure Tourism and Yoga and Ninth Ratna – Tanakpur-Bageshwar Rail Line. Work on this railway line will also start soon.

Work on the Chardham mega project is going on at a fast pace with a cost of Rs 12 thousand crore. With the completion of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, the journey between Dehradun-Delhi will become easier. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project will be completed in two-three years. More than 16 thousand crore rupees are being spent behind this scheme. After the completion of the Rishikesh Karnprayag Rail Project, a large area of Uttarakhand will become accessible to the people and tourists of the state. Due to this, new opportunities for investment, development of industries and employment will be created here. And in the midst of this grand campaign of development on Devbhoomi, now this Vande Bharat train will also prove to be a grand gift for the people of Uttarakhand.

The Prime Minister said that due to the efforts of the state government, Uttarakhand is rapidly emerging as a tourism hub, adventure tourism hub, film shooting destination and wedding destination. Today, new places and new tourist hubs of Uttarakhand are attracting tourists from India and abroad. All these will get a lot of help from the Vande Bharat train. Now Vande Bharat trains have started running in every corner of the country. Trains are the first choice of people when they have to travel long distances with family.
