The country will get 99 Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers on Wednesday. These officers will serve in their respective cadre states after completing a two-year training course at the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy (IGNFA).
Three IFS officers from Uttarakhand
President Draupadi Murmu will attend the commencement ceremony of the training course of the academy for the year 2022-24 as the chief guest. She will present various awards along with certificates to the trainee IFS officers receiving initiation. After passing out from the academy, the officers will serve in the state of their respective cadre. Three IFS officers have come from Uttarakhand from the year 2022-24 batch.
Two trainee officers also from friendly country Bhutan
Through this course of IGNFA, along with 99 IFS trainee officers of the Indian Forest Service, two trainee officers from the friendly country Bhutan will also pass out. Madhya Pradesh state will get the maximum number of 15 officers in the current batch.
This academy, which is being operated since 1926, was earlier named Indian Forest College. All the Indian Forest Service officers of independent India as well as 365 forest officers of 14 friendly nations have so far received training from here. Certificates and awards will be presented to officers who have achieved various outstanding achievements during the training. This time’s initiation ceremony is also special in the sense that the President will address the trainee officers. Before serving the country, he will be able to get the inspiration of being the first citizen. The academy administration has completed all the necessary arrangements regarding the function.
