Uttarakhand is the first state of the country
After independence, Uttarakhand has become the first state in the country to take a decisive initiative towards a Uniform Civil Code. After a long exercise, the government presented the Uniform Civil Code Uttarakhand-2024 Bill in the Assembly on Tuesday. The bill presented in the House by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has 392 sections, out of which the number of sections related to succession alone is 328. Once this bill is passed, it will take the form of law. Many laws will change after the implementation of UCC in Uttarakhand.
