Air travel to the valleys of Devbhoomi, which is important from the point of view of tourism and pilgrimage, will now be easy and accessible. With the aim of attracting tourists, the government is continuously expanding heli services. In this series, the state government is going to build six new helipads to start heli service under the UDAN scheme. These helipads will be built in Bageshwar, Lansdowne, Munsiyari, Champawat, Pithoragarh and Agastyamuni. A place has also been identified for this.

There is no dearth of natural beauty in Uttarakhand. At some places, high mountains and at other places, velvety valleys attract tourists. The natural lakes formed among the remote mountains here are not only the center of attraction for tourists but also have mythological importance. Apart from this, there are many such areas which are making their place in the world tourism map.
Heli services are currently operating here
Under the UDAN scheme in the state, heli services are being operated from Dehradun to Chinyalisaur, Dehradun to Gauchar, Dehradun to Tehri, Dehradun to Srinagar, Dehradun to Almora and Haldwani to Pithoragarh. Heli services are being operated from Dehradun to Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib from various places in Chamoli district. Including these, helipads are built at 51 places in the state.

Now the state government is taking steps towards starting operation of heli services from here by building helipads at six other places. The objective is to operate regular heli services in these areas. Earlier, there was a plan to build a helipad at Triyuginarayan, but due to lack of space here, the helipad is now being built at Agastyamuni. Heli services are being expanded in the state. In this series, preparations are being made to build new helipads at six places. Land has been marked for this.
