The Legislative Assembly will approve the implementation of Uniform Civil Code in Uttarakhand this month and giving 10 percent horizontal reservation in government services to the state agitators. According to Parliamentary Affairs Minister Premchand Aggarwal, the date of the Assembly session in this regard will be announced soon. Apart from this, there will be a budget session next month. Whether it will be in Gairsain or Dehradun, a decision will be taken soon. The government is now going to move rapidly towards implementing the Uniform Civil Code.
The committee will submit the report to the government
The expert committee formed to decide the draft of the Uniform Civil Code has completed its work. It can submit its report to the government this month. Some time ago, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had indicated this. After receiving the draft from the expert committee, the government will take it to the Legislative Assembly for legalization. Apart from this, the government had brought a bill in the monsoon session held in September last year with the aim of providing 10 percent horizontal reservation in government services to the Uttarakhand state creation agitators and their dependents. This bill was handed over to the select committee of the assembly.
Date will be announced soon
The Select Committee has submitted the report to the Speaker of the Assembly. There is pressure from the state agitators also on the government to pass this bill soon. The government has started preparations for holding sessions on both these subjects. Actually, the monsoon session has not been adjourned yet. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Premchand Aggarwal said that the session regarding Uniform Civil Code and agitating reservation will be held this month. Its date will be announced soon.
