Now the state universities will operate Samarth Portal themselves. The portal will only be monitored at the government level. In this regard, Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat gave instructions to the senior officials of the department. He asked the universities to prepare the annual academic calendar on time, so that the students can take admission in undergraduate and postgraduate classes on time. Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat held a review meeting of the Higher Education Department in the assembly hall at the Vidhan Sabha on Monday. He gave instructions to remove the responsibility of operating the Samarth Portal from the government and hand it over to the state universities. He said that the universities will now operate the Samarth Portal themselves so that academic and other activities can be conducted smoothly from admission to undergraduate and postgraduate classes in government colleges and university campuses. Dr. Rawat said that the work of the government is only to monitor the portal and not to operate the portal. The government will decide the date of opening and closing the Samarth Portal. He said that many problems came up regarding the Samarth Portal last year, in view of which this decision was taken. In the meeting, the departmental minister directed the Director of Higher Education to conduct DPC within a week for the vacant posts of principals in government colleges. Principals will be sent to those colleges where the posts of principals are vacant. Along with this, he also directed to provide the report of vacant posts of assistant professors in various faculties to the government subject-wise within three days. Secretary Higher Education Ranjit Kumar Sinha, Vice Chancellors and Registrars of various universities and various other officials were present in the meeting.
