Government will challenge the decision of the High Court in the Supreme Court
Since the formation of the state, 30 percent horizontal reservation was being given to local women in government services in the state. Recently, it was challenged in the High Court before the results of the PCS examination were declared.
On this, the High Court decided to do away with the system of giving 30 percent horizontal reservation to local women in government services. Since then, there has been pressure on the government to give women reservation continuously. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had said that women of the state would not be allowed to be harmed.
The government will challenge this decision of the High Court in the Supreme Court. For this, after consulting the Justice Department at the government level, it was decided to file a petition in the Supreme Court. On Monday, a petition in this regard has been filed in the Supreme Court on behalf of the state government.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who returned from Kedarnath and Badrinath tour on Tuesday, said that the government will vigorously advocate on this issue in the Supreme Court. Regarding the visit, the Chief Minister said that the construction work of Kedarpuri is progressing rapidly. By December 2023, the form of grand and divine Kedarpuri should be ready.
For this the reconstruction was inspected. He said that this year 10 times the work is being neglected as compared to last year. Target has also been fixed for Badrinath reconstruction works. Efforts are being made that the work should pick up pace there before the Prime Minister’s visit.
