Uttarakhand’s mushroom girl Divya Rawat along with her brother arrested in Maharashtra – was demanding Rs 32 lakh

admin February 12, 2024

Uttarakhand’s Mushroom Girl and brand ambassador of mushroom production Divya Rawat and her brother Rajpal Rawat have been arrested by the police in Pune, Maharashtra. Divya is accused of fraud and forgery. A case was registered in this matter at Paud police station in Pune in the year 2022. Paud police station has confirmed the arrest of both. According to the police, Jitendra Nand Kishore Bhakhada, resident of Manaslek Bhukum (Paud) had filed a case against Divya. He told in the complaint that he has a consultancy firm, which he runs from home online and through phone. He wanted to start an industry in the year 2019.
During this time, through Facebook, he was introduced to Divya Rawat’s sister Shakuntala Rai, who gave information about mushroom cultivation in Dehradun. Shakuntala called her for training in Mothrowala, Dehradun in January 2019, where she met Divya.
The complainant said that his health deteriorated after the training, due to which he came to Pune. In December 2019, he got a call from Divya that he could join her Soumya Foods Pvt. Ltd. After this Divya called him to Dehradun and proposed partnership in mushroom production under the Reverse Migration-2020 project. Before starting the project he went to Gujarat with the team for training. There he also bought some machines. The complainant said that during this period, he alone bore the expenses of salary, accommodation and purchase of machines for the team members.
The complainant said that the entire project cost approximately Rs 1.20 crore. Divya gave some of this money to him, which she later took back on some pretext. When he asked for the money back from Divya, in the year 2022, a case of fraud of Rs 77 lakh was registered against him in Nehru Colony police station of Dehradun.

Secret revealed in Right to Information
The complainant told that after Divya’s complaint, Nehru Colony police station called her to Dehradun and arrested her. After being in jail for three months, he got bail from the High Court. After coming out of jail, when he asked the police department for information regarding his arrest under the Right to Information Act, he came to know that Divya had filed a case against him on the basis of an affidavit made from Meerut.

It is alleged that this affidavit was found to be fake during investigation. He complained about this at Paud police station in Pune. After this, Divya was demanding Rs 32.5 lakh from him for the settlement. On this the complainant called Divya to Pune to collect the check of Rs 10 lakh. Also informed the police. Divya and her brother were arrested by the police in Pune on Friday.
Divya Rawat and her brother Rajpal Rawat have been arrested on February 9 in a case of fraud and forgery. Both are on police remand for three days. He is being interrogated. -Manoj Yadav, Police Station Head, Paud (Pune Rural)
