Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has emphasized on the operation of Vande Bharat Express train between Dehradun-Lucknow in order to connect the capitals of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh with better train service. He also requested for this in his meeting with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav in Delhi. Apart from giving approval for the construction of Tanakpur-Bageshwar railway line, requested for expansion of railway services. During the meeting with the Railway Minister, the Chief Minister discussed in detail about strong rail connectivity in the state. He proposed starting a direct train service from Ahmedabad to connect Kathgodam, Haridwar and Dehradun, re-operation of Kotdwar coach in Doon Express and Ramnagar coach in Janata Express and starting a new train service from Tanakpur to Mehndipur Balaji in Rajasthan. requested.
He said that the expansion of rail services will provide easy transportation to the people of the state and tourists. Besides, being a tourism major state, the economy of the state will also be strengthened. The Railway Minister assured the Chief Minister of all possible cooperation on all subjects.
