The young man who lured a Hindu girl to a flat and raped her has been arrested by the Special Task Force of Uttarakhand Police from Amreha, UP. The accused was dodging the police for the last four and a half years, due to which IG Garhwal Range had announced a reward of Rs 50 thousand on him in the month of July. The STF team was camping in Amroha for the last 10 days to arrest the accused. STF SSP Ayush Aggarwal said that a woman filed a complaint in Raipur police station in March 2019 that her daughter studies in class 12th. On March 25, 2019, his daughter reached home crying and told that Shohaib, who lives in the neighbourhood, had cheated her of Rs 50 thousand on the pretext of illness and was demanding more money.
Obscene photo taken by luring someone into talking
According to the complainant, when he questioned the daughter in depth, she told that the accused had taken obscene photos of her by luring her with his words, which he was blackmailing by showing them. The accused has been threatening and physically abusing her for a long time. He is threatening to make the photo viral and kill his relatives if he does not have physical relations.
On asking about the accused, it was found that he had gone to Amroha. In this case, a case was registered against the accused in Raipur police station on 26 March 2019. The police raided to arrest the accused but he was nowhere to be found. A reward of Rs 10,000 and then Rs 25,000 was announced for the arrest of the accused, but even after this he could not be caught by the police.
In July 2023, the Inspector General of Police had announced a reward of Rs 50 thousand on the accused. When the case went to STF, a team was sent to Amroha in search of the accused. After gathering information about the accused for 10 days, the STF team arrested the accused Shoheb, resident of Amroha, Moradabad, UP, from his house on Monday.
