This year Uttarakhand has increased GST collection by 12.19 percent. Revenue of 6200 crores has been received till the month of November. Uttarakhand ranks 13th in the country in state GST collection. Finance Minister Premchand Agarwal held a departmental review meeting with the officials of the State Tax Department. In which GST collection, Vyapari Samman Yojana, Bill Lao-Inam Pao Yojana’s mega draw and other issues were discussed. In the meeting, State Tax Commissioner Ahmed Iqbal informed that till November this year, revenue of about 6200 crores has been received from GST collection. Whereas last year till the same period, revenue of 5437.85 crores was received. There has been an increase of 12.19 percent in GST collection as compared to last year. Apart from this, Uttarakhand has secured 13th position in state GST collection in the entire country. In the meeting, the Finance Minister praised the working style of the officials and directed to innovate towards further increasing GST collection. He said, the mega draw of Bring Bill-Get Reward scheme should be organized soon. So that prizes can be given to the winners. Like PRD, a company should be deployed for security at the checkpoints built on the state’s border. So that accidents can be curbed by the presence of security personnel at the checkpoints. Special Commissioner IS Brijwal, Additional Commissioner Anil Singh were present in the meeting.
