Sports Minister Rekha Arya held a meeting with departmental officials on Friday at the National Sports Secretariat in Raipur regarding the transfer of land of the Sports University and amendment in the proposed Act regarding the Sports University.

In the meeting, the departmental minister said that the Raj Bhavan has returned the Sports University Bill with some objections. In this regard, on Friday, he talked to the Legislative Principal Secretary and amendments in the bill and is considering issuing an ordinance regarding the proposed Act. The Sports Department will send the ordinance of the Sports University to the Raj Bhavan this month. After this, a notification will be issued regarding the university. In the meeting, the Sports Minister also took information from the officials on the points related to the transfer of land for the university. It was told that the process of land transfer is at the level of Principal Chief Forest Conservator. It will be sent to the Central Government soon. This subject will be kept prominently for in-principle consent from the Center, so that the foundation stone of the university can be laid by the Prime Minister. Sports Minister Rekha Arya said that on December 11, on the foundation day of PRD, a respectable amount will be given to retired PRD jawans and financial assistance will be given to the relatives of the deceased. This will happen for the first time. Principal Secretary Legislative Dhananjay Chaturvedi, Special Principal Secretary Sports Amit Sinha, Nodal Officer of Public Works Department Mukesh Parmar, Sports and Youth Welfare Director Prashant Arya were present in the meeting.
