Cyber thugs have also become active as the date of commencement of Char Dham Yatra draws near. Fake websites are being prepared in the name of heli service for Chardham. STF of Uttarakhand Police has caught eight such websites, which were immediately closed. It is being told that in the name of booking heli services through these websites, fraud of lakhs of rupees has been done from the residents of different states. STF is trying to trace these victims.
The operators of the fake website are also being searched. Every year during the Chardham Yatra, cyber criminals who cheat in the name of providing heli service to the Dhams become active. In view of this, the government changed the system this time and handed over the booking responsibility for the heli service to the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). Apart from this, booking of heli service is not being done on any other website.
The state government has issued a health advisory for the Chardham Yatra. Health check-up of passengers above 55 years of age coming on the journey will be done compulsorily. Other Yatris have been advised to come for Char Dham Yatra only after health test. All the passengers filling the form will have to give details of their chronic diseases. This will make it easier in the testing centers.
Devotees suffering from problems of pregnant women, blood pressure, asthma, diabetes and obesity have been asked to exercise caution. All the passengers have also been expected to follow the Corona appropriate behavior. The Chardham Yatra is starting in the state from Saturday, April 22. By April 27, the portals of the four Dhams of the state will open. All the four Dhams are in high altitude areas.
STF’s SSP Ayush Aggarwal said that no website other than IRCTC is authorized to book heli service for Chardham. There is an appeal to the devotees to be alert from the fake website and book the heli service from the authorized website only. STF is also running a campaign against fake websites to save the common man from cheating.
