The Excise Commissioner suspended six personnel, including the inspector, after a spurious country liquor factory was caught in Roshanpur village of Udhamsinghnagar. Along with this, a show cause notice has been issued to IGL’s Kashipur distillery on charges of supplying ethyl alcohol for making spurious liquor.
According to Excise Commissioner Hari Chandra Semwal, in the case of spurious liquor factory caught late on Monday night, prima facie the negligence of the personnel of the concerned area has come to the fore.
Therefore, Excise Inspector Bajpur Mohan Singh Koranga, Excise Inspector Additional Charge District Enforcement Sonu Singh, Deputy Excise Inspector District Enforcement Devendra Kumar, Head Excise Constable Nitin Kumar, Excise Constable Jagwati, Dharam Singh were suspended with immediate effect. Along with this, the investigation of the episode is also being started. So that other aspects including the negligence or involvement of personnel in the spurious liquor case can come to the fore.
Serious charge of supplying ethyl alcohol to spurious liquor:
According to Excise Commissioner Hari Chandra Semwal, such a thing is coming to the fore through the police that the ethyl alcohol prepared at the IGL distillery in Kashipur is also being supplied for making spurious liquor. Because, ethyl alcohol from the distillery is sent through trucks to various places across the country.
In such a situation, it is suspected that ethyl alcohol was also being provided somewhere in between for making illegal country liquor. In the notice sent to IGL, it has been said that according to the rules, the quantity and intensity of spirit is mentioned on the transport pass and it is transported in a sealed manner.
It is the responsibility of the concerned distillery. From the facts that are coming out, it seems that the spirit was being provided to illegal country liquor manufacturers in the middle of the way without reaching the destination safely. It has also been said in the notice why the license of the distillery should not be canceled for this act. The distillery management has been asked to respond within three days.
