In the inaugural session of the Global Investors Conference, the government has also invited Shramveer Gabar Singh Negi and Pushkar Singh Airi of Uttarakhand, who encouraged their comrades for 17 days in the Silkyara Tunnel of Uttarkashi. Workers were trapped in the tunnel on the day of Diwali
On the morning of Diwali, i.e. on November 12, 41 laborers were trapped inside the tunnel under construction under Chardham Alvedar Road project in Silkyara, Uttarkashi due to debris. Many efforts were made to evacuate them, but success was not achieved in the initial days. Two of these laborers trapped in the tunnel were from Uttarakhand. One of them was Gabar Singh Negi, resident of Kotdwar and the other was Pushkar Singh Airi, resident of Champawat. Gabar Singh Negi played an important role in boosting the morale of the laborers trapped inside the tunnel.

They were also giving consolation that the efforts being made by the rescue agencies would soon prove helpful in getting everyone out of the tunnel. The rescue agencies were also getting information about the situation inside the tunnel mostly from Gabar Singh Negi. It was the success of the efforts of the workers of Uttarakhand that when the workers were taken out of the tunnel after 17 days, everyone was completely healthy. Now these laborers have been invited to the inaugural session of the Global Investors Conference.
