Before the Lok Sabha elections, BJP is preparing to make all its big moves. While the preparations for the consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya have gained momentum, on the other hand, in the month of the consecration itself, the Dhami government team will give a new edge to the election campaign by submitting the report of the expert committee. Now the government has started taking steps towards implementing Uniform Civil Code in the state. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the committee preparing the draft of the Uniform Civil Code has said that it will submit the draft of the Uniform Civil Code to the government in January.
CM Dhami said that after receiving the draft, whatever formalities will be completed. After this the assembly session will be called. He said that the state government is also constituting a high level committee on the subject of native place. Besides, a high level committee is also being formed to study the land law report.
Priority is to implement Uniform Civil Code
CM Dhami said that implementing Uniform Civil Code in the state has been a top priority of the present BJP government. The government constituted an expert committee under the chairmanship of Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai (Seni) to draft it. The committee has completed its work.
There is a need to amend the draft
It is believed that in the 500-page report, the committee has emphasized on the need to amend the existing law in the draft. In this draft, it has been advocated to give equal rights to the followers of all religions. Along with this, points related to live-in relationship, divorce, giving equal rights to women in ancestral and husband’s property, inheritance, inheritance, adoption, compliance with local and tribal traditions and customs and personal freedom have also been included.
Report will be submitted after the consecration ceremony
It is believed that this report will be submitted to the government after the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya on January 22. The state government has also decided to constitute a high level committee to resolve all the issues related to native place. The Chief Minister said that whatever work is in the interest of the state will be done. Besides, the government is also forming a high level committee to study the report of Subhash Kumar Committee on land law, which will work on it.
