Big planning is being done regarding Uniform Civil Code in Uttarakhand, it can be implemented on this day

admin January 10, 2025

The Uniform Civil Code can be implemented in the state on 26 January on the occasion of Republic Day. It is believed that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami can announce it. Preparations for this are going on in full swing. The rules are being tested in the Legislative Department. Along with this, registration fees are also being fixed for various types of applications. To provide equal rights to all citizens in Uttarakhand, the state government has enacted the Uniform Civil Code law. The rules have also been prepared to implement it. It has been sent to the Legislative for testing. It is being seen that there is no duplication of any central law in it.

1500 personnel of different departments will be given training

Along with this, the process of training the block level personnel has been started to bring the Uniform Civil Code on the ground. Personnel have been identified for this. About 1500 personnel of various departments in the state will be given training. An institute has been given the responsibility to provide training, which will explain the process of Uniform Civil Code to the personnel and will give information about its implementation. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has already said that the Uniform Civil Code law will be implemented this month. The counting of votes for the civic elections in the state will be held on January 25. In such a situation, it is believed that the Chief Minister can announce its implementation on January 26. In this episode, the Home Department is busy preparing to implement the Uniform Civil Code.

Registration fee will be reduced
The committee constituted to make the rules of the Uniform Civil Code had proposed registration fee for various services like marriage, divorce, live-in relationship and will etc. This fee is proposed from one thousand rupees to five thousand rupees. If sources are to be believed, the government has considered it to be very high. Now preparations are underway to reduce the registration fee to the minimum. It is believed that this fee will be kept from Rs 100 to a maximum of Rs 500. Initially, to make the general public aware, it is being considered to make this arrangement free for a few months.
