Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken seriously the incident of death of contract lineman due to electric shock while working on power line in Vaddakhal area of Rikhnikhal block of Pauri district. MLA Dilip Singh Rawat raised this issue before the Chief Minister. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, the Energy Corporation management suspended the Executive Engineer of the area Vineet Kumar Saxena, Sub-Divisional Officer Chandramohan and Junior Engineer Shubham Kumar with immediate effect. The Chief Minister directed to take strict action against all the employees who were negligent in this matter and also to seek clarification in this regard from the higher officials of the corporation. Taking a tough stand, Chief Minister Dhami said that such negligence will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He directed the officials to give top priority to safety during electrical works. It should be ensured that all necessary safety equipment is available at the workplace. Especially at the time of use of risky equipment like fire or sharp object, the concerned personnel should have all the protective resources like helmet, gloves, safety belt, insulated tools. He has instructed for strict action against all the personnel who are negligent in the matter. The Chief Minister said that he sought information about how many safety equipment are currently available with the department and whether these equipment are reaching the employees working in the field effectively or not. The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government considers the life and safety of every employee paramount and any kind of negligence in this direction will not be considered forgivable. Especially at the time of use of risky equipment like fire or sharp object, the concerned personnel should have all the protective resources like helmet, gloves, safety belt, insulated tools. He has instructed for strict action against all the personnel who are negligent in the matter.
