Mayor Saurabh Thapliyal informed that suitable sites have been identified in the city for plantation. At these places, plant species have been carefully selected according to the site. Plants have been purchased from the Forest Department and preliminary preparations have been started in various areas. The Municipal Corporation has appealed to common citizens, schools, institutions and voluntary organizations to participate in this campaign. The mayor said that every plant is a life and if we all plant even one plant and protect it, then Dehradun can be made a truly green city. The mayor also informed that the corporation is also working towards making a green policy in collaboration with the Forest Research Institute (FRI). This policy will be helpful in increasing greenery in the city and conducting greening activities in a planned manner.
Plantation will be done using Miyawaki technique
