Today our players do not play only to participate in any competition but enter the field with the resolve to win and wave the tricolor. Chief Minister Dhami said these things in a function organized in the multipurpose hall of Parade Ground on the birth anniversary of Major Dhyanchand and National Sports Day. In the program, medal winners and coaches in other sports including national sports were honored by distributing an amount of about 16 crores. Along with this, more than five crore rupees of scholarship were also distributed to more than five thousand players. Player Mansi Negi, who brought laurels to the state by winning medals at the international level, was also handed over the appointment letter for a job in the Sports Department and Mohammad Arshad in the Police Department.
During this, the players of Mallakhamb attracted everyone by making difficult postures. Apart from this, the Pandavaz Band gave a musical and cultural performance. During this, Rs 15.69 crore was distributed to the medal winners of the 38th National Games, Veteran Master Competition, Civil Services Competition, All India University Sports Competition and various international competitions. Chief Minister Dhami, who attended the program as the chief guest, said that the successful organization of the National Games has paved the way to establish Uttarakhand as Devbhoomi as well as Khelbhoomi. Sports Minister Rekha Arya said that the players have become a role model for thousands of youth of the state with their performance. In the program, players Mandeep Kaur, Amisha Rawat and Manoj Sarkar, who participated in Paris Olympics 2024, were given Rs 50 lakh each, Shaurya Saini and Abhinav Deshwal, who won gold in international competitions, were given Rs 30 lakh each. Aroused enthusiasm among players for Olympics
After the National Games, now preparations have also started for the Olympics in the state. On Friday, the Chief Minister and Sports Minister aroused the enthusiasm of Olympics among the players from the Parade Ground. He said that if the Olympics are held in India in 2036, then the sports infrastructure of Uttarakhand will play a big role in preparing the players for it. Maximum youth of the state should be represented in the Olympics.
Athletic synthetic track to be built in Parade Ground
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced to build an athletic synthetic track in the Parade Ground and install synthetic football turf in the Pavilion Football Ground. He said that India has started efforts to host the Commonwealth Games in the year 2030, hence the sports department and young players will have to start preparing for it from now onwards.
