Dehradun. The Transport Corporation will soon purchase 250 new buses. Of these, 200 buses will be for plains and 50 for mountain routes. This proposal of the Corporation was approved in the Board meeting of the Transport Corporation. The Board also agreed to a three percent increase in the dearness allowance of Corporation employees. With this, Corporation employees will now receive 53 percent dearness allowance instead of 50 percent.
The Board meeting was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary and Chairman of the Transport Corporation Board, L. Fanai. It was also informed in the meeting that the Transport Corporation had purchased 100 buses at a cost of Rs. 35.35 crore. After the change in GST rates, the Corporation saved approximately Rs. 2.76 crore.
Now, Tata is ready to provide nine new buses for an additional ₹17 lakh. The board approved this purchase. The corporation will now purchase 109 buses for mountain routes instead of 100. These buses have already started arriving.
