Along with the justice of Gwel Devta and the history of Shrinanda Rajjat, information about the historical, mythological and archaeological places, fairs and other events of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand will be available to the common people along with school children. The book ‘Hamari Virasat evam Vibhutiyaan’, newly included in the school curriculum, takes the folk, cultural and spiritual heritage of the state. The special thing is that there is a plan to make these books available at public libraries, gram panchayat buildings, community centers and book sellers’ shops. For this, SCERT is sending a proposal to the government.
Textbook implemented
At present, the Hamari Virasat evam Vibhutiyaan textbook has been implemented in class six, seven and eight in the state. It mentions the historical, cultural, religious and social heritage of Uttarakhand as well as the great personalities, freedom fighters, litterateurs, social workers, environmentalists and other inspirational personalities of the state. The objective is that the new generation can connect with its roots and understand the glorious past of the state. The books are currently only a part of the school curriculum. These are not available in the market. The State Council of Educational Research and Training had prepared this book. Literature lovers and readers are now lobbying before the council to make these books available to the general public. In view of this, SCERT is working towards making these books available to the general public, so that everyone can become familiar with the glorious history of the state. The expert committee constituted by the state government is also continuously receiving suggestions and requests from the general public in this subject.
