He also asked to take immediate steps to create a State Industrial Force in the state like the Central Industrial Security Force. Jail Manual and Jail Act should be amended and implemented.
At present, during the tourism season in the state, only civil police personnel are trained and deployed as tourism police in tourist places. Union Home Minister Amit Shah gave instructions to modify the Jail Manual and Jail Act made by the Central Government as per the situation of Uttarakhand and implement it in the state. He also asked to get a clear proposal from the police headquarters regarding the Model Fire Bill.
Task force should be formed
To stop drug trafficking, he directed for time bound formation of task force and regular holding of monthly meetings at the district level. Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that in sensitive cases related to the Union Home Ministry and in cases where inter-state and international nexus is visible, the cooperation of the National Investigation Agency and the National Crime Bureau should also be taken.
The rules of Foreign Registration Act should be amended
The Additional Chief Secretary instructed the foreign nationals staying in the hotels run in the state to fill the C Form as per the rules. The Union Home Minister also asked to provide proposals for necessary amendments in the rules of the Foreigners Registration Act.
