
The weather department in Uttarakhand had forecast light rain with partial cloud cover on Wednesday, but in most areas including Dehradun, bright sunshine remained since morning and mercury also increased and the highest maximum temperature of this year was recorded so far.
Hide and seek between sun and clouds
Today, Thursday, the weather has remained bad in most areas of the state since morning. Clouds are overcast and there was severe cold. The game of hide and seek between sun and clouds continued. The weather department has again forecast light rain in the mountainous areas today on Thursday. Whereas, there are chances of light showers with thundershowers in the plains including Dehradun. A yellow alert has been issued for lightning at some places. There was light fog in Dehradun on Wednesday morning, however, bright sunshine appeared in the afternoon and mild heat started being felt. During the day, the temperature of Doon also reached close to 26 degrees Celsius, which is six degrees Celsius more than normal. Apart from this, it is the highest so far this year. At the same time, the maximum temperature in the mountainous regions also remains much higher than normal. However, the chill remains in the morning and evening.
Weather mood changed in the state today
According to the Director of Meteorological Center, Bikram Singh, due to the activity of the latest western disturbance, the weather mood in the state may remain changed today. There are chances of partial cloud cover from the mountain to the plains. Light to moderate rain may occur at some places in Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Uttarkashi, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri, Tehri, Almora and Nainital. Apart from this, a warning has been issued regarding lightning with thunder in Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri, Tehri, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar.
