
Before the New Year celebrations, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that apart from being the 23rd year of formation of Uttarakhand as a separate state, 2023 has also been an important year in terms of development journey. He said that we worked to give shape to various resolutions as per the vision of ‘Strong Uttarakhand’. Chief Minister Dhami said in a statement on Sunday that we have signed MoUs worth Rs 3.5 lakh crore through the Global Investors Conference. This is more than the target set by us of Rs 2.5 lakh crore. The state has started a new chapter of development through the investment conference.
Government moving forward on the mantra of zero tolerance on corruption
At present, the state government is continuously taking steps on the basic mantra of zero tolerance on corruption. During the two and a half year tenure of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh, maximum action was taken against the corrupt. 40 corrupt people have been trapped in 38 cases and sent behind the bars. In this, in the year 2023, 19 people including four officers were trapped in 18 cases and went to jail. Ever since assuming the leadership of the state, the Chief Minister had made his stand of zero tolerance on corruption clear. Immediately after taking oath, he removed the then Chief Secretary Om Prakash, who was surrounded by controversies.
Action has been taken against many powerful officers
During the tenure of Dhami government so far, action has been taken in corruption cases against powerful officers including IAS, IFS and PCS. IAS Ram Vilas Yadav and IFS Kishan Chand, who were accused of corruption, have also been arrested and sent to jail. After the Vigilance action, the Central Investigation Agency ED has also taken action against both the officers in the disproportionate assets case.
Toll free number 1064 becomes weapon in the fight against corruption
The state government also made toll free number 1064 a weapon in the fight against corruption. So far 423 complaints related to corruption have been received on this number. Which are being investigated thoroughly. Action has been taken on some of these cases and action on some is in progress.
Chief Minister Dhami recently reviewed the implementation of the MoUs signed during the Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit with senior government officials at the Secretariat. He directed to implement as many proposals as possible by February 15.
