Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) is providing great support in providing roofs to the poor in urban areas. The order of allotment of houses to the beneficiaries under the scheme remains continuous. In this sequence, Housing and Urban Development Minister Premchand Aggarwal on Wednesday allotted houses to 1983 beneficiaries of Haridwar, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar districts in five projects of Housing Development Council. On this occasion, he said that the Housing Department has been instructed to complete the 20 housing projects being run in the state on time.
Housing and Urban Development Minister Agarwal congratulated the beneficiaries by handing over the forms related to house allotment in the program organized in the office room of the Assembly Building. On this occasion, he said that after getting approval from the Centre, the Housing Department is working on 20 projects in the state, under which a total of 15960 houses are being built. 3104 residential units are proposed for the economically weaker sections in five projects of various authorities, while 12856 houses are to be built in 15 projects under the Housing Development Council. He said that till now Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority has constructed 464 houses and made them available to the beneficiaries.
Apart from this, 6463 houses have been allotted in the first phase in the housing projects of Housing Development Council. Apart from this, verification process for housing allotment is going on. To make the process of house allotment completely transparent, allotments are being made through online lottery. At the time of allotment of houses, houses are being allotted on the ground floor, giving priority to senior citizens and disabled people. The Minister said that keeping in mind women empowerment, women are being given priority in housing allocation. Otherwise, houses are being allotted jointly to men and women. On this occasion, MLAs Adesh Chauhan (Ranipur) and Diwan Singh Bisht (Ramnagar), Additional Housing Commissioner Prakash Chandra Dumka, Executive Engineer Anand Ram and other officials were present. Housing for six lakh rupees
Houses are being provided to the beneficiaries for Rs 6 lakh under the affordable housing component in partnership with the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). The Central Government is providing Rs 1.5 lakh and the State Government is providing Rs 1 lakh as grant to the beneficiary. The remaining amount of Rs 3.5 lakh has to be borne by the beneficiary himself.
