In Uttarakhand, heavy rains are continuing amidst clouds and hide and seek from the mountains to the plains. In most areas, the sun is shining with partial clouds throughout the day, but the sequence of heavy rain continues in the evening. Heavy rains also occurred in many areas of the state on Wednesday night. Due to which landslides and overflowing of rivers and streams affected the life of the people.
Yellow alert of Meteorological Department issued
In Doon, after the sunshine throughout the day for the last few days, there are heavy rains in the evening and night. According to the Director of Meteorological Center, Bikram Singh, there are chances of heavy rain in some places in the state even today. Yellow alert has been issued for heavy rain with thunder and lightning in some places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Rudraprayag, Nainital, Champawat, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar. Monsoon rain is still pouring heavily in Dehradun. Last Wednesday night, heavy rain fell in most areas of the city for about five hours. Due to which normal life was affected. The rivers and streams overflowed and a person along with his scooter was swept away in the rain drain, due to which he died. On Thursday morning also, there were heavy showers in some areas of the city. However, the sun and clouds played hide and seek throughout the day. There is a possibility of heavy rains with thunder in Doon today also.
Highest rainfall in these areas
On Wednesday night, heavy rains occurred at many places in the state. During the night, the highest rainfall of 98 mm was recorded in Raiwala of Dehradun, 94 mm in Gularbhoj of Udham Singh Nagar, 80 mm in Dhumakot of Pauri, 72 mm in Dehradun city, 70 mm in Bhagwanpur of Haridwar, 68 mm in Pantnagar of Udham Singh Nagar.
