Voice raised in Uttarakhand for restoration of old pension, trended ‘No NPS, No UPS, Only OPS’

admin August 31, 2024

The X campaign organized at the national level on Thursday by the Old Pension Restoration National Movement kept trending throughout the day. In this campaign, a large number of teachers and employees from Uttarakhand also posted and demanded restoration of old pension.
State President Jeet Mani Panyuli said that enthusiasm was seen among the officers and employees regarding the X campaign and everyone strongly opposed UPS. Everyone has demanded in one voice that only and only old pension should be given to the employees. Officers and employees of all the headquarters, directorates, assembly and secretariat of the state also contributed enthusiastically in the campaign. Now from September 2 to 6, all the employees will work wearing black bands. Also, a memorandum will be sent to the Chief Minister and the Prime Minister through the District Magistrate. Provincial Senior Vice President Jagmohan Singh Rawat, Provincial President Women Urmila Dwivedi, Provincial Spokesperson Surya Singh Panwar, Provincial Media Incharge Manoj Awasthi, Provincial Treasurer Shantanu Sharma, Publicity Secretary Harshvardhan Jamloki, Ajit Singh Chauhan, Dhirendra Kumar Pathak, Neeraj Nautiyal, Anil Panwar, Divisional President Vikas Sharma, Divisional Minister Devendra Farswan etc. participated in the campaign.

Employees of Uttarakhand will not be able to get the benefit

The old pension restoration movement of the National Old Pension Restoration Joint Front continued on Thursday as well. Employees in government departments across the state protested by wearing black bands. The state incharge of the front Vikram Singh Rawat said that the old pension is the right of the employees. The UPS scheme brought by the government is completely anti-employee. The state general secretary of the front Sitaram Pokhriyal said that no deductions were made from the employees in the old pension restoration. Deductions are being made from the employees in NPS and UPS. It is being said that the benefit of UPS will be given to the employees only after 25 years of service. Thousands of employees of Uttarakhand are not going to come under this scope. Because a large number of employees in Uttarakhand get jobs only at the age of 40 to 42 years. In such a situation, the employees of Uttarakhand are not going to get any benefit. The government will have to restore the old pension status before October 2005 at any cost. Till then the agitation of the employees will be continuously intensified.
