On the first day of the assembly session in the summer capital, the Pushkar Singh Dhami government presented the first supplementary budget of Rs 5315.39 crore for the financial year 2025-26 in the House on Tuesday. In the supplementary demands, the government has kept an amount of Rs 3163.02 crore in the capital head, showing its resolve to speed up the infrastructure development works. At the same time, Rs 2152.37 crore has been given in the revenue head to complete the ongoing works quickly. The government has kept an amount of Rs 925 crore for the Rispana-Bindal elevated road in view of the excessive pressure on traffic due to the construction of Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. An arrangement of Rs 263.94 crore has been made for relief work under land subsidence and others in Joshimath and other places. Rs 13 crore will be spent to rebuild the assets damaged by the disaster. In the supplementary budget, provision was made for various projects related to the development of the state. 90 crores have been made for the works of the Public Works Department, 78.89 crores for the expansion of fire services, 60 crores for residential buildings of the police, 50 crores for the Sharda River Front Scheme, 50 crores for the Atal Ayushman Scheme, 50 roads for developing Rishikesh as a Yoga City, 50 crores for developing Haridwar as a tourist city, 50 crores for Women’s Sports College Champawat.
