Now the law will also tighten its grip on those who convert through digital medium. For this, the Uttarakhand Freedom of Religion and Prohibition of Unlawful Religious Conversion Amendment Bill was presented on the Bhararisain Assembly table on Tuesday. The government has now made the previous conversion law more strict. Under this, any gift, reward, easy money, material benefit, promise of marriage, better lifestyle, glorification of one religion against another will also be in the category of crime. In this law, the maximum punishment has been increased from 10 years to 14 years and life imprisonment. The amount of fine has also been increased from Rs 50 thousand to a maximum of Rs 10 lakh. Apart from this, the District Magistrate has been given the right to confiscate the properties of criminals earned by committing the crime of religious conversion. The victims will be given legal aid, accommodation, maintenance, medical and necessary facilities. Their names and identities will be kept secret. The government will also make a special plan for this so that the victims can get immediate help.
